Handling viewer questions without interrupting every demonstration
Use a moderator queue, planned question pauses and an urgent-correction rule to answer live shopping viewers accurately.
Give live questions a clear route: let a moderator collect them, make urgent corrections at once and take ordinary buying questions at planned pauses. Viewers should know when an answer is coming while the host finishes the step being shown.
Decide which questions cannot wait
Interrupt when continuing would leave viewers with a materially wrong impression about the product, what is included, its price or safe use. If the answer is unverified, the host should say so and stop repeating the uncertain claim.
A size comparison or fitting question can usually wait until the end of that demonstration. A question requiring someone's order history belongs with the retailer's support team. Make these distinctions in the host briefing rather than asking the host to sort them out while reading a fast chat feed.
Give the moderator a working queue
A simple queue needs the question, product or variant, checked answer or owner, and one of three states: answer now, answer at the next pause or follow up through support. Combine repeated general questions so the host can answer them once. Keep individual customer details out of the shared run sheet.
At the start, explain when pauses will happen. The moderator can acknowledge that a question has been collected without implying that its answer is known. If the team cannot cover chat and demonstrate at once, reduce the product list or allow longer pauses.
Keep each answer tied to the item
Before replying, identify the exact version. 'Yes, it fits' may be wrong if the answer applies to only one model. State the checked fact and any condition that changes it. For a long compatibility list, tell viewers what to check in the product information instead of making a broad promise on air.
The ACCC accepts reports about possible false or misleading claims and can require businesses to back up claims about their products or services. It may investigate and take compliance or enforcement action. Record unanswered factual questions for a checked follow-up rather than guessing.

Use chat controls deliberately
Check YouTube's current live-chat moderation guidance and the settings and permissions in the actual account before relying on a control. Moderation can reduce disruption and public exposure of private details; it should not hide a legitimate product concern because it is inconvenient.
After the session, review unanswered questions and corrections made on air. Update product information or send a follow-up where needed. Check whether the recording still presents an inaccurate claim; a correction heard by live viewers may not be clear to someone watching later.
